Plazz'ms

A _{sort of} new species for Astronautical, Starblazers/Plazz'ms!

I only say sort of because this is a species I've had an idea for for like, a year now but never got a final idea until last week, these guys are based on Stargazer fish. Stargazers like to bury themselves in sand, both for defense and for hunting, Stargazer fish are almost always only visible as a cooky little face poking out of the sand staring at you. Some species even are capable of producing electric charges for offense.


This species is still a WIP but I really liked their design which is, at least, final. Their culture and details about their species though are still subject to change. The Plazz'm are an entirely energy based plasmatic species, they are the only energy based species currently known. Because of this they are somewhat difficult to measure, a Plazz'm can condense or grow it's body to immense lengths at will, as such Plazz'ms don't truly have an average size or a maximum size, their age can be deduced by their body temperature, as a Plazz'm ages their body heat starts to dissipate and they begin to shine less bright, when a Plazz'm has passed away their body cools to zero and they dissipate leaving a small semi-solid ashy core behind.

Plazz'ms are a very erratic species, they naturally have a tendency to zip about, even if sitting still their body will be fluctuating and buzzing about. Plazz'ms are electrifying as well as extremely hot, so they do cause damage to other species if touched, because of this many Plazz'ms don mechanical suits to interact with other alien species, similar to the Myxus, Plazz'm however have much more diversity in the types of suits they wear. The Plazz'm are one of the few sentient races that cannot mate with other species.

Plazz'ms have the ability to enter electronic devices and manipulate them, it's how the robot suits function after all. This can be a problem though, crimes are easy to commit because of this, as such many electronic devices either come with or can be augmented to have an anti-Plazz'm device that will slightly magnetize the device if a Plazz'm attempts breaching it which will incapacitate them and keep them from entering.
