Nancy Posh

Felt like drawing and giving some love to a character in my series Astronautical that, though not important, and hardly ever makes appearances, I still adore. Nancy Posh!

Nancy is probably the biggest local celebrity in the small town Sharon and Ace live in. She's the head reporter for the local news station channel 5. Drooled over by nearly every man in town and her looks coveted by nearly every woman, Nancy is incredibly beautiful, though it's debatable just how much of that is an illusion by the camera. Speaking of illusions, Nancy may seem chipper and friendly and lovably sweet on camera but in reality Nancy's a real b*tch. She isn't very good at hiding it either, her opportunistic attitude and her better-than-thou mannerisms easily sneak out. Nancy is always looking for the biggest scoop and trying to stay in the spotlight and remain adored by the entire town. She doesn't care who she has to hurt or screw to get to the top. Her rival is Kimmy Kwan the reporter for Channel 3. The two have a heated rivalry always racing to get to the next event or one-up one another. Televised cat-fights between the two have happened many times (funnily viewership skyrockets each time!) and always get ugly.

In the series Nancy is not a very pivotal character but she certainly is a fun one. She generally is used for a recurring gag spouting the newest government issued cover-up excuse each time something paranormal happens in town. Swamp gas, weather balloons, owls, that stuff! Though there are a few times she will play more important roles.

This was really fun to make, I really love the broadcast of her smiling over the opportunity to interview a bawling child who lost his home to a fire that's classic Nancy! In the top reel frame you can see a behind the scenes Nancy backstage getting all dressed up. And the last panel is her interviewing Snail, the mutant, well, SNAIL! She seems terrified as she should be, luckily for her Snail is surprisingly civil when he gets his time in the spotlight.
