Released the same year as the smash hit Dracula, Frankenstein is tied with the Count as arguably the most recognized and famous of the Universal Monsters! I'm far more a fan of the science fiction than fantasy horror, so I prefer Frank myself, and... FRANKLY.... I'd have to say Frankenstein is my favorite of the classic Universal monster films. It's not the best adaptation of the source material but it's a damn good one, Karloff's portrayal of the monster gives us such memorable moments, I depicted what is most likely my favorite scene from the film; when the nameless monster comes across a young girl playing, he doesn't attack her like he did his violent master Doctor Frankenstein as well as his assistants whom treated him like a monster, no the girl welcomes him to play with her with flowers, and we see the gentler side of the 'monster' and the potential he had even with a ”criminal brain”, the potential he had had his father perhaps not seen him at face value and looked deeper. Unfortunately as we all know, the scene with the little girl turned deadly, as upon happily finished tossing his flower petals into a lake, the monster grabs hold of the girl and without knowledge of the dangers of it tosses the young girl into the lake as well, she dies of course, she cannot swim, thus begins the famous torch and pitchfork trope with the village hunting him down.

I like how this one turned out it's my favorite of the Universal Monsters I made this time and one of my favorites out of the whole 31 in general. Initially I was going to go for a Double Feature type thing with the Monster dancing with The Bride but I opted for this instead to pay homage to the original classic.
